Hello Everyone, I has been long time Google is not updating PR. Can anyone say what's going on? No major PR change is observed in last 4-5 months. I hear some rumor that they are not gonna update PR anymore. Can anyone tell me abt this? Thanks
Dont be so worried about PR its only a little number in a tool bar, concentrate on getting relevant back links to your website and you will stay on Google first page thats important not the pr number
agree with @coolerchoice .. at the end all that what matters is to getting your site on google first page.. no matter if its with PR or without PR.
you people say, that PR is not an importance. then why does every one worry about PR? Everyone is looking to gain a PR desperately , No doubt... No one would deny if they get a PR5+ or so the right answer for bd90's question is, google has not made a major pagerank update from April 2nd, 2010. Its been 8 long months. there were 2 minor updates in mid september and june which were equal to NIL Lets hope google will make a major update this new year. Like it did last time on December 31st Keep watching!!
Dude... you really need to search the forum before posting. There's an official PR thread (sticky) and dozens of other posts with the same question. The answer is: no one knows. IMO Google is simply abandoning it. If they say they are terminating it, that will cause an uproar. If they just do nothing, eventually people will assume it is broken and move just on...
It went on vacation in the Alps to sci ... managed to climb up..but now can't find its way down through the mountain .. but eventually he will come, if not, it will be found somewhere..freeze and kept fresh..
PR can make a difference but you'll definitely want to get more backlinks to your site and add your site to directories, the more respected the better. DMOZ, you'll notice, is a result on nearly any SEO analysis tool.
The google PR toolbar does not matter towards rankings. The rankings are up to date already. They might never update it again because it is not important. You should just focus on getting traffic to your website in any way possible. Even if you got #1 ranking for searches in google, it does not mean that you are going to get any traffic. Some keywords don't bring traffic. Focus on using traffic sources that actually deliver and forget about Google. They never helped me and never will.
May be Google is not longer interested in update PR on a regular bases again, let us wait till new year for update.
