I already post this issue on other forums but with no luck on the reason why. This is totally weird to me and I've never noticed it before. Actually it never happened before. I was just looking at www.google.ca which is supposed to be displayed in english/french languages right? Wrong! The language it was displaying was italian. So I thought: let's try it again with another google extension. I tried google.fr/google.de etc... Same thing happened. It was in italian Have any of you ever experienced something like that and understands the reason why? I think it might be an isssue on the google side. Another weird thing I just noticed is the following: go to www.google.com and type in the search box just google.ca then hit the return key. The first result you see is : Google Google.ca offered in: Français · Advertising Programs - Business Solutions - About Google - Go to Google.com. ©2005 Google - Searching 8168684336 web pages. www.google.ca/ - 3k - 26 Aug 2005 - Cached - Similar pages Language Tools - Business Solutions Français - Advertising Programs More results from www.google.ca » If you click on the link Language tools you'll be brought, as obvious, to the translate page. Here the weird thing is that as default the translation is from German to english. That's a no sense. You are suppesed to be on the google .ca translation page, and you should see set as default english to french or even french to english, certainly not german. Hope I'm making myself clear.
Yeah already checked 'em. Guess it has nothing to do with my settings which have always been the same ones...
It could be a browser hijack. Download this tool and see if there's anything suspicious in your IE browser: http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis.zip
do an online scan for your machine from Symantec, as a precaution turn of your antivirus software and/or malware programs before running the scan. Regards,
I've already done all these things. I scanned with Norton, ad-aware, deleted the IE cache. My pc is fine, really... Just to be sure I'm making myself clear, if for ie I go to www.google.co.uk, I see that there is the google.co.uk logo, just the menu is italian.
Nope, does anybody of you have the correct email address to use in a case like this? Also, did you guys try to go visit a regional google site like www.google.it or www.google.fr and check if you see the menu in english but with the correct local logo?
I just went to google.ca and had english and french as the choices and they both were working correctly. I tried .it and .fr and both were in the correct languages also.
In Internet Explorer Go to Tools > Internet Options > Languages and set it to English if it's not. Your problem seems to be coming from your operating system and not a third party...it's a weird problem though!
Oh yeah...If the problem persists, use a different browser like firefox or opera and see if you get the same problem
