For me its the layout, simple with few ads, and the ease of use. Obviously the information and members are great too.......
OK cool. For me it's the memberbase. It's a very laid back atmosphere for the most part, until you hit the BST forums, lol.
Not an easy question to answer because there are so many positives about DP not least its layout and ease of use, but one of the major strengths is that it is managed by pro-active dudes this makes doing business in here easy, as you are operating 'within the comfort zone' safe in the knowledge that working away in the background are some really smart, innovative guys making sure that the DP Services on offer are 'ahead of the curve' There simply is no better Forum on the Web period Digital Point Forums
Amen brother. Something which just came to mind, not treating it like a business, perhaps that's something to do with it.
For me it's the community (I could mention here tons of names from this forum, that actually were much more then friends and nice guys). And an extra, is the fact that Shawn gives back to the community. Not only that he shares the revenue with members (I mean for the individual that's nothing, but he looses a lot) but he allows 4 links in signatures (and they don't have nofollow on them, stupid Seochat owners), he was I think the first one who integrated the lastest Blog thing, and he actually puts no restrictions on linking to other websites from threads. Sure he recently made some radical changes in the forum, with infractions and so on, but this REALLY had to come. Digitalpoint is growing so fast these days, and if someone doesn't take charge, all is lost. At the end, I mean I love DP. Nothing will make me stop reading and writing in this forum, as long as it's live on the Internet.
From a management perspective, I think this has to be a good thing. With the memberbase the size of DP, how are mods to know who has done what otherwise.
Seochat, Webamsterworld and others dude. PS: I actually love him for doing that, and I would've done the SAME any day.
I like dp for its abundance of knowledgeable members. Hopefully one day I will know as much as some of you. Plus, the revenue sharing and backlinks help.
DP is the only forum I use in terms of working and sharing with others. It is a great forum, and there is a lot of good people. I think those are the strong points along witht the rev share. I also agree... infractions are a good thing to help weed out the bad members, but I think that the infractions are a little overboard in some cases. There should be more info in the faqs about what calls for infractions, instead of surprises.
Here is my theory: Digital Point magically has all of us hypnotized. Shawn made it so that all the colors remind us of money, (hence its all green) and we are all addicted to it!! just kidding.
Unlike many other websites (SitePoint mostly), DP doesn't charge fees to list items for sale, and receives much more traffic than competitor sites. DP is quickly achieving worldwide attention; we have a large diversity of races in this forum and now with a Google PageRank of 8, I can look forward to a forum with more ethnicities and webmasters around the globe. Plus, I love Bubba Shawn, Crazy_Rob, and Nintendo.
Ditto. I like being able to put anything I like in my signature. The community is great for learning about making money online. Everyone here wants to make money so there's some good B2B action.
