I just added adsense to a section of my website as a test for the last 7 days. I have 7,400 Page Impressions over the week, but a 0.84% CTR (62 Clicks) - Is this decent? What is a good %?
Poor CTR - Anything under 1% Okay CTR - Anything between 1% - 2% Pretty good - Anything between 2% - 4% Extremely good - Anything above 4%
higer the better, given that its legit CTR. however, CTR depends on niche, site layout, and ad positioning along with blending
0.84% consider as low. The average shall be aound 3% and i can say more than 5% is good. It is depend on your niche too, my game site able to achieve 7% CTR but health site can only get 0.7% CTR
The CTR depends on a bunch of factors: 1. How well targeted ads are in relation to the site content/search term where the visitor arrived from 2. If you have too low keyword/term density compared to other words, irrelevant adsense ads will be displayed 3. Placement of the ads / the better they merge with the regular content the higher the CTR (trick the user mind to think they are just menu links for extra information) Here is the "old" trick that can increase your CTR tremendously: Display the search term (extracted from the referrer URL) as a header for the ads area. Place the ads as the first visible text links on the page under that header. At least 3% CTR should be you goal.
CTR always should be round about 3% to 4% So of people are having more than 8% CTR but it is not good
Exactly, there is no magic number for CTR. As the good sultan rightly states above, as long as the clicks are legit, a high CTR shouldn't provide a problem. You may have to be concerned about conversions on the publisher's site with real high CTRs but if the clicks are legit, the conversions may be there.
That is true, you can get banned. The safest way is to blend ads into your website style by placing them next to other link choices.
