Hi people, Been developing sites with my partner for a few years. End of last year we split roles and I did site functions and he did site SEO. We have recently gone our seperate ways, and whilst I was up to speed on the best types of things to do to get good SE positions in Google a year or so ago, I'm now feeling a bit out of touch. I take it that offsite backlinks are still the way to go, but what are the best types of sites to aim for? Has anything changed in the last 12 months that would now lead to being blacklisted? I know I'm asking a lot, but any pointers in the right direction would help, thanks
From an SEO viewpoint, nothing much has really changed. But the fact is, Google loves fresh content and authority backlinks. So, if you can have this done on your pages, then you're fine in the search engines.
Hi folks, Sorry if my post was a bit vague. To clarify...(hopefully!) When I was last trying to get backlinks, I was typically looking for sites with pagerank mostly 1-4, and on authority sites, which gave great results. However, my business partner started looking for volumes of low PR pages located on blogs and other social networking sites, and seems to have had success over the last 12 months. So my question is, what does Google seem to favour at present, (yes I know a bit of everything) but what should I give my time to in offsite backlinks. Thanks
