What's change with MSN?

I use to find it really easy to get in the top 10 of MSN up to about 6 months ago. At that time they changed thier website design.
Now I get buried in the rankings.

What do you feel has made the difference in the decline of my ratings?

For example: even a simple strategy like making a post to craigslist, I found I could get indexed fast and be on the first page.

Now, forget it. It doesn't work anymore.

Or keeping up with blog postings...still seems tougher than it used to be.
    Any thoughts/tips?

All the Rocket Scientists have grouped together and they are tired of getting their hiney's stomped by Google. They want a piece of that pie!

The old cliche is "There is nothing as constant as change".

Search engines are not phonebooks. One day your in, one day you are out. They have to contend with millions of people all trying to manipulate them for commercial gain. At the same time they are fighting to keep that revenu for themselves.

MSN has changed. Figure out what has changed, and keep it to yourself and make some money. I like MSN. I make a fair amount of money from sites they have favored.

Yep, I've noticed that lately too. My site was buried in MSN rankings.

Sorry, I can't answer your questions. But I want to know when you rank the top in MSN, compared with google, how many traffic you got from MSN? I'm thinking whether I need to work on SEO for MSN or not.

They could have added some new criterias for link rating, like links from certain directories doesn't count. And those certain directories linked to your website, hence the decline in rank.

Have you heard this news about MSN
The latest major change in the search engine giant, MSN Search, has been the inoculation of “neural networks” into its search engine algorithm, something internal researchers call “RankNet.” This change took place in late June of this year. This algorithm is fresh, and it is becoming a great consideration for many search optimizers.

Newer sites list better right away with MSN. They will display newer relevant sites to show the viewers the fresh new content quicker. After that they may be sent back further into the index until the link structure and age/trust are improved.
