Whats better for google? ?cat=x url or /cat/x url?

    googles see "/cat/x" better then - "foo.php?cat=123" ?

    Agreed. Search engines appear to associate words that appear in the url more highly than those in the query string. As JohnZing has implied, words in the query string are probably not used in ranking calculations at all.

    /cat/x is good, if links are seo friendly google will index your site better then dynamic links.
