What's Better a Great Domain name that's not .Com or a Mediocore Name that is?

    Would appreciate some guidance on this. Is it better to have in terms of resale value a domain with a name hypothetically like Scifi.org or a Name like
    IntheSciFizone.COM?

    There is no easy answer to this question. You have to weigh each of them up. In your example I would take Scifi.org

    I prefer the great domain name if is not a country domain (.us, .fr, .de, .es ...), so if is .org, .net or even .info domain.

    You have to be creative and decide on a case by case basis... what will the domain be used for, developed, parked etc? if developed what sort of subject can influence the type of name you want.

    Between SciFi.org and lets say FunSciFi.com, sometimes .com just might be better.

    People assume .org as lower than .com domain anyways, and SciFi might be trademarked.

    For that example, definately Scifi.org, IntheSciFizone.COM would be reg fee max unless developed.
