    Well, heres my thought...

Although it makes perfect sense to concentrate your time into one single project, we all know how fragile it can be working on the internet and serps change often, its easy to get penalised and all that and i think this:

If you create 10, not only does it stop you from getting bored with one topic, but you broaden your chances of making money, you may setup 10 and find that 5 are winners and 5 are not so then you might downgrade to the 5 your enjoying and earning off.

Now if you put all your time into one only and its still not doing well you may feel frustrated after all the time.

And one blog may not do so well for a few months, if you keep a few you can get by with the others.

Personally i would like to have more than one blog, but i wouldnt have time to maintain them.. do you?
Maybe focusing on one blog and once your making a decent earner you could create another "niche blog" link them together, update content... wallah!

If you have all the time, theres nothing wrong with having more than 1 blog as long as you can maintain it..

It's about quality, not quantity. If you have 10 blogs that suck, and you stop updating after the first 3 months, because you are not getting any traffic, have no PR, and haven't crossed the $100 mark with adsense...then you have just wasted your time.

Why don't you try to make one blog good. Just one, because it is not as easy as you think.
If you can master, SEO, traffic, and monetization, then go ahead.
Why start 10 blogs and feel your way through the business ?

I would say have 10 blogs because there's more potential from adsense clicks... but you have to at least updated once in a while... which would be more work...

Its all depends on how you handle them :D If you handle all 10 blogs verywell then 10 is best or else 1 is enough IMO.

BTW some people manage 50-100 blogs too :p

I think one or two is best because that can be managed easily.

Thats the secret :p Maybe they don't want to share that secret with us otherwise everyone go for that :D

If you handle 1 to 5 blogs properly then go for it as you will earn enough from them IMO.

Depends on how much time do you have and also, on your interest. If you have time to manage 10blogs efficiently then go for it else just stick to one AND promote it efficiently.

Yeah, it really depends on how fast you can pump out quality content for your blogs + time for advertising them, monetizing them, etcetra. Personally I run five blogs with four regularly updated and one (as it is a personal blog) updated once a week or so. If you have the time, go for it as there is a wider range of audiences for you to target. If you can't making one great will be better than ten crappies.

    G'luck!

You cannot serve two masters at the same time what more if they were ten? You may be doing good on some but you cannot win them all, unless you have someone to help you. Just imagine making new quality posts in 10 blogs , where will you get fresh ideas? How in the world can you update them regularly and fairly?

If you can answer me fairly, then go ahead and good luck!

I noticed alot of people are selling established websites on ebay, they simply use someone else's rss feeds, so updating content is automatic but is copied, you could have 100 of these sites in different niche.. but its not unique content... write yourself ;)

There are many factors here that we know nothing about. I think it's important to know what is the audience to your blog, and what are the topics your blog(s) cover. Only than I we can know is it better to have 1 blog or a dozen...
