I have a question that relates to what domain I shall choose when I buy new ones.

    If I'm looking to buy a domain that consist of two words like Digital Point is it then better to buy;

    digital-point.com
    or
    digitalpoint.org/info/biz

What is more important to have the .com address or that there aren't any - in the domain name?

The reason that I would like to know is which domain has the best chance of a good ranking in Google.

    /Grateful for any help

It would best to buy DigitalPoint.com. Hyphens are frowned upon if you are looking to resale this domain.
.Org extension is good for nonprofit groups and can be valuable in the proper niche market.
.Info extension are also valuable, but only when properly develop.

By far, however, the .COM extension is the best to purchase. (allbeit - hypehnated)

If I had a choice between hyphens and .info I would go with the hyphens in the .com domain personally.

My bad but I see that I should clarify one thing.
I would buy the digitalpoint.com domain if it was available but in my example I can't choose because it's already taken.

I'm also not looking forward to sale the domain I just want to rank high in Google and get traffic to the site.

So what shall I choose then?

Google Does Not make a distinction for hyphenated domains when it comes to indexing and SEO. For instance, If you were go to Google search engine and type in the keyword phrase (debt-relief) you notice that Google indexes any resource URL containing keyword phrase whether hyphenated or not.
    (e.g. www.freedomdebtrelief.com)

It does however makes a different subcategory for (debt relief) and (debt-relief). But again, if your site is properly optimized, you could easily appear no# for either phrase category.

By all means, go ahead and purchase your hyphenated keyword domain.
