Hi there, I want to know the following things about the Alexa Ranking. 1. What's Alexa Ranking? 2. Why it is imporant? 3. How to improve it? Any help will be highly appreciated. Best Regards KB
1) How much traffic you are recieving (can be compared to your competitors) 2) Hmmm... when selling it may be important, or even selling links @ adbrite according to traffic 3) Highering the amount of traffic your site receives daily
Its very flawed though and not accurate at all. In fact very easy to fake too. Its worthless in my opinion.
Text Link Ads, ReviewMe, etc. keep in consideration your Alexa rank. So it's important to have a decent Alexa rank if you want to monetize your site using the above services.
Alexa is important because it gives a general idea as to how much traffic a website is receiving.. If you are messing with marketing methods like social bookmarking, you will want to know how much traffic a site is receiving because it will play a part in how much traffic you eventually receive from your marketing efforts...
In my humble opinion, not so important - it shows relative traffic to your website among people having Alexa toolbar installed. Therefore it's hugely skewed in favor of SEO/internet marketing sites .
Although Alexa does not provide the accurate data (almost everyone knows it!), but this website has able to establish such a commendable position that any webmaster could ignore. That is the only reason why Alexa is important (Exclusively my opinion though). The data which matters is the Traffic.
Even though Alexa ranking is not an accurate ranking, It is considering in many of the places for calculating your website worth. In mainly depends on the traffic. However there are some other factors considering by alexa. My blog alexa rank of 73K.write a review about alexa , then you can see a slight improvement in rank
I can't trust Alexa at all. I have one of my websites that ranks far lower on Alexa than another, but it still receives far more traffic. I wouldn't trust an Alexa ranking as far as I could throw it personally. The only thing I can tell you is that it might be an indication that website does receive visitors, but in terms of how much, no.
Although Alexa may not be your best source for understanding how many uv/day your site is getting, it will give you a better understanding of your demographics which is very important to know when trying to monetize your site with banners, text, cpa offers or adsense. I'd definitely say its worth using as a tool.
Alexa is a way to judge your traffic and highly searched keywords and stuff like that. It's pretty faulty though, not very accurate whatsoever. I don't think it's very important at all, but some people who sell sites regularly try to entice buyers by showing off their incredibly low Alexa rank. But who cares about some Alexa rank? What matters are your actual ranks in the SERPs.
