Hey guys, My site's only been up properly for 2 weeks, I've been doing a lot of article submission and blog carnivals and so on...I don't know if I can divulge details but I'm getting double digit hits daily and about pretty crappy CTR. I'm not expecting to be a millionaire overnight, but I do want to know what the overall progression is? (If even this is in violation of TOS please let me know, someone!) Am i right in saying my traffic and CTR is going to stay like this for a few months? I have read a few "success" stories (could be BS), which says traffic and $$ are coming in after a few weeks! say as an arbitrary figure, when do you guys start making $100 a month? After how long? And after how long do you start making $100 a day? any examples of sites that are making $100 a day or more?
I think sharing your CTR or cost per click is against TOS, but I'm not totally sure. Basically, my adsense income is almost doubling each month, because I'm concentrating on increasing traffic right now
Here's a guide for one of my sites first month: $7 Second Month: $40 Third Month (so far) $6 Dunno if this helps, but it does take time to build traffic and get ranked in search engines.
It depends, is always the correct answer I notice the heavy hitters are always testing. In other words, they don't have any answers either. They just keep trying things and run with what works. On the other hand, something is always better than nothing. You can't test until you have some traffic.
the most important thing about your site now is traffic. without traffic.... its gonna be hard to earn money.
most websites (in general, on average) dont earn any real money for about a year. this is because it takes a long time to build content, get indexed, get backlinks, etc. When i started just over 1-year ago, i planned on making nothing for the first year. to my surprise though, i was making good earnings after only a few months - but this is not typical.. I created a second site a few months later it's still still earning pennies.. partially because of the niche it's in and partially because i spend ALLL my time working on my first website. it really depends on what your site is about, how much content you have, how well you do things, how lucky you are, etc.. You might be making thousand$ after only a few months... or you might only be making pennies... hard to say... but it IS possible to make good money quickly..
I am not sure what the average is, but it is slow going for me. I have a shade over 40 pages and made about $7.50 in my first month with adsense, which was my second month overall. So far in month 2, I have a much lower CTR (.55%) and am on pace to make less? It seems to eb and flow, but I won't worry too much unless this is still happening after antoher couple of months.
Well, this would partly depend on how hard you work, how much competition your niche has which could determine how you rank, etc. Some people (thou not common) can make considerable amounts of oney pretty quickly while others can take well in excess of a year to see any significant money coming in.
Ive been at this biz for 20 months now ( March 2007 is my 20th but only been heavy just recently ) and I've earned a total of $17.65 from adsense. Now keep in mind $15 has been from Dec. Jan. Feb. and Mar. Most of the time I was busy or using affiliate programs. But Dec: $2 Jan: $1 February: $8 March: $3 ( only 4th day and Ive earned more than january and december combined )
there's always diferent sides of the story, but i believe if you work hard, on page and off page SEO, link buildind, etc., traffic will come and result's in serp's will come too. only then, $$$ will come
If I were you I would aim for trying to get 1 dollar a day. If you get 1 dollar a day then you will get 30 dollars a month approximatly. Depending on how much you get per click this can either be 50 clicks or 10. But try for 1 dollar per day and then you will be satisfied with the results.
It changes from month to month. I have several sites with AdSense on them and if I am lucky I may earn enough to pay the server bill for the month. But I earn more from parking pages companies than I do from Google and with a lot less work on my part. Gene
monk, read the guidelines in DP foruns, place some more particular questions, experiment, experiment, read the guidelines from Adsense Blog, experiment, experiment, and relax for one month. Me, as 99% of the people in here, when started adsense in one of my oldest sites, just wanted to know WHEN i get to the top... Wrong, i should be more worried of HOW to get there. Since i found out that issue, i'm a happier webmaster cause things flow as they need to! I started in a $1 a day, then $3 a day, then my goal was $10 day... and now my goal is $50 day. So, study alot of infos related to SEO, Adsense targeting and Positioning, Marketing, Link Building .... and try to put all your effort in easy, strong steps. When i started a lot of you guys told me "work hard"; and to tell you the truth, you we're right!
