CTR is relative...but generally speaking if you keep receiving impressions on the content network your CTR is "good enough" in relation to the other ads being shown. Google wants to show the ad with the highest likelihood of being clicked. CTR is what's all about on the content network.

    Depends on your niche...

Keep in mind that every new campaign tends to receive a bit more clicks int eh beginning...

Your CTR is very good for content network.

Also If you make your keywords in content network campaigns more accurate you can receive better CTR. (I've tested that)

Somewhere I wrote that google determine from an keyword only the "theme" of the ad and display it on relevant different sites but it seems that this information is not 100% accurate.

It is, Google uses the keywords in an ad group to help create a "theme" that's used for content targeting.

content ctr is typically less than 1%

worry less about CTR in the content network since it does not have much meaning. If your CTR is really low like 1% then it means you have the ability to capture lots more traffic through text ad testing. if your getting .65% then there may not be much more room for improvement as I rarely see CTR over 1% in content

Where do you guys come up with these numbers? I run hundreds of content campaigns and the average CTR is far from "under 1%".

Just curious where the 1% stat comes from.

    Hundreds (most).

They usually don't start that way but almost always get there pretty quick.

I am a complete newbie in Adwords, so maybe I shouldnt say much in this thread but in case it helps you to put things in perspective and compare with much more seasoned people here:

I tried to create a campaign and the the last 3 days I get 0.57% on the Content Network, I would say beginner's luck! However I do not have many impressions. (competitive keywords and I only get like 10,000 a day with like 15 cents a click)

    HTH ... a bit
