What's the normal CTR for Forums? Mine is 0.2%, I'd just like to get an idea if that's too high or too low. Thank you.
depends on the size. I run a half dozen or so decent sized forums, and none of them are close to 1 percent.
I have a large photo gallery which is similar to a forum in both CTR and page views and I only did .57% last month. So, your CTR sounds reasonable.
I avergage just under 1% You will find forums dont get high click throughs. You get lots of page views because users are either refreshing the page or reloading the page or just posting posts etc. In all you get a lot of views, but not many click throughs. This will always be the way with forums
i guess anything close to 1% is very good for forums. hadly any old member clicks on ads. they know what they are looking for and just goes there
Ash if I had to guess I'd say that a large percentage of your clicks are coming from your index pages alone, a I right? Your index page is essentially just a content page with Adsense on it. From your forum itself I bet your not pulling a 10% CTR. I run a fairly popular forum that is getting a CTR of 1+% for August so far, and that is with nothing more than a leaderboard - but as Ash has said with his forum a large percentage of my traffic is coming from SE rather than returning members which does lead to lower impressions and higher CTR.
