The thing with using an established email provider is that they really focus on deliverability, a factor often overlooked by marketers. The reason these providers crack down so hard on spam is that they rely on the trust of Internet ISPs to let their email through. Some of the email providers further down the pecking order have relatively low deliverability rates. So, it's best if you have regular emails to use one of the major services. The two usually recommended are Aweber and Getresponse. Personally, I found those services too restrictive and annoying - and hard to get through to for support. So I was happy to swap over to Officeautopilot. They are more expensive, but they are massively more flexible in terms of the email you can send. Particularly, if you want any single user on multiple lists you can achieve this really easily with 0A. Whereas with AW or GR you have to put the person on several different lists (and pay for them 3 times too) with OA you just tag the person with three tags then just send any email you want to all the people with any of those three tags. If you just have one send out of 5000 to do then you could consider Groupmail. This is a desktop based solution. You will need to find out how many emails an hour your host allows you to send, and then you can set up Groupmail to be within those limits. For example, you can set it up to send one email every 10 seconds, if your host allows you to send six emails a minute. Malc
