Hello All, I don't know why but I think it's a lot of fun trying think of different keywords and then seeing how many times that word or phrase was searched on. So I've been doing various searches for around 6 months and I'd like to think about taking it to the next level. It seems like a good approach might be: 1. Find a search term that is heavily searched for. 2. Check to see if there is good content on the internet for that search term. 3. If there isn't very much good content then research that subject and put up a web page with google ads. I seriously doubt that I am the first person to try this approach. So does this approach work? If it does work, then what's a good number of searches per day? I found a search term that has 5000+ searches per day, and there's very little content on the web for that search term. Is that a good subject to set a site up for? Thanks, Marty
You might want to check the back links on the pages you found that rank high for the search term you used.
Well that is essentially the process I follow. Obviously its not exactly the same and we all have our own little criteria that we follow. But yes if you do your research properly it works very well. And can drive alot of traffic and profits to your sites. Brad
Thanks for the responses guys. OK so I checked the back links on the number first page that was returned by google and it has 36 pages linking to it. I checked by going to google and typing the URL of the top page and then I selected "Find web pages that link to..." So two questions: 1. Is 5000 searches a day a good count? 2. Is using google to look for back links a good way to go? Thanks again...
Well 500 searches a day is very good search term... and no i would suggest that you go with Yahoo! or MSN to search for the links to your site! Manish
Thank you Manish. So you find that a search term that the shows at 500/day can generate a profit in Adsense?
Yes ofcourse....500+/day serches doesnt mean that you would only recieve that much traffic only.. thats only a approx. stat that is provided... you may even get much more than that... and if you target more than 3-4 keywords that recieve 500 searches a day then... 3*500=1500 hits to your site a day.... isn't it good enough.... Manish
Hey Manish, Based on your last post I think you've underestimated my ignorance with respect to adsense. I don't even know if I have the right mindset to be successful with Adsense. I am having a hard time wrapping my mind around this business model (adsense). It seems like I have a couple of points of knowledge: 1. I know how to build and deploy a web page/site 2. I know how often a search term is searched on (relative to other search terms) 3. I know how to make my pages search engine friendly Here are some things I know I don't know: 1. How often people will click the ads 2. When or why search engines will show my pages 3. How much I will be paid per click (based on my experiences and based on what I've read it ranges from $.01 to $50) Here's what I know I don't know: ???? So I really don't know if 500 searches a day is a good count, but I will take your word for it because you seem like you know what you're writing about. I don't mean to be disrespectful and I want you to know that I sincerely appreciate all of the help you've given me. I am just very intrigued and curios about all of this. Thanks again, Marty
Thanks to digitalpoint.com it's really easy. All you have to do is go to http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion/ and enter the search terms you're curious about.
Well marty sorry for the late reply... these college days are very bad... exams then classes and all those stuffs.... Well i guess u know about adsense... it's basically a simple advertising that google automatically shows on your webpages at certain locations defined by you... the ads are related to your webpage... if you have a webpage giving information about seo then it displays all the ads related to seo... so when some one finds it useful they are surely coing to click on it.... Take care Manish
