Whats a good minimum bid on Content Network?

I just started advertising through content network with placement-targeted campaigns.

Right now I am bidding .05 for each click. Is this really low or is it fine? What do you bid on new campaigns?

Will .05 get me any clicks?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

See if you get impressions with this bid... If not, increase a little bit just to start impressions...
The price depends on competition and your CTR...

You can start with 0.05 and slowly increase the bidding to 0.10

I assume you mean what's a good bid, not a good minimum bid?

It depends on how much the clicks are worth to you - if 10% of your visitors spend £100 each, then you can afford to pay more than £0.05.

If 1% of your visitors spend £20, then £0.05 is a sensible cost per click (though you'd still want to go a bit higher).

To get traffic stared go higher, then drop it when traffic starts. I usually go with $0.20 to start, then lower that from there. Starting low and increasing it is a bit backwards imho...

always overbid and back off slowly. Doing the reverse will take you longer to gain traction...

Dont forget to set your budget to an affordable loss... You are going to get a lot of traffic and not going to make much, but its key to start off high, lose money and then back off slowly and start adding massive negs

Your maximum bid will depend on your niche, I also agree that you should over bid and back down with the content network.

I personally would open a new account for the content network, I get away with 2 adword accounts: One for testing campaigns and one for keywords I have found with great CTR. Keep one account just for search with good CTR and you will get much better rankings for that account.
