I have AdSense on two sites with similar content and the click through rates are way different. Below are the actual rates for the two sites I added AdSense to yesterday: Site 1: 1.20% Site 2: 0.22% What's a decent CTR?
CTR can depend a lot on the type of site. But I'd say generally anything around 5% is a respectable figure.
Zodiac, No trick question. I have two sites with AdSense and those are the actual stats, thus far today. Not exactly what I was hoping for. I just added AdSense to these sites yesterday. In the last 24 hours, I've only made $13.01 from 47 click throughs. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it's hard to get excited over $13.01...
I think it depends on the type of the site you are monetizing. I run search engines and my CTR is about 8-12%, most of my visitors come from other search engines though. So I guess it also depends on the source of traffic your site is getting...
It's all about the NICHE Entertainment sites have higher CTR as visitators are not "high tech" A webmaster related site has very low CTR as this kind of people are like "ad blind" Hope you understand
I would say anything above 3% is good, but it really depends on your niche. Webmaster and technology sites tend to have the lowest CTRs.
add_cents, I think you nailed it. My site has thousands of users, but its a forum like this one. Many of the same characters every day. They are less likely to be interested in the ads as they read all the messages in the forum. I guess the key is to have a site with a lot of new visitors on a daily basis. Cheers, Will
Thanks HiltonHeadIslander! I designed it about three months ago. Though traffic is not high on this site yet, it is increasing naturally: http://extremetracking.com/open;unique?login=pprsts It started growing even more since I posted a thread on this forum called Free Add URL Service.
$13.01 for 47 is very high average per click. $13.01/47 = 0.27 cents per click. I will not complain in your case.
i would consider 1.5 as optimum ctr , at that visitors don't leave website so early , and its also good for adsense
I was stressing over the low CTR when I first started, but after I realized that it was because of repeat visitors, I decided to figure out other ways to capitalize on the site.
