Curious what kinda CTR large sites get for entertainment niche. Anyone know? Especially if audience is mostly kids.
depending on the nature of the entertainment...i'm guessing gossip/TMZ/perezhilton type stuff 3% altho there are so many other factors including placement, SEO and news
And industry avg click through rate is about .02. My opinion, you should always just look at the data. If you KNOW FOR A FACT your demographic is children, the right ad placement and the right content will make the CTR spike for unique visitors and then drop for return visitors. (Kids click stuff for no reason.) You never ever have to assume anything about the online behavior of your traffic. You can always see what they are really doing by looking at the data. Combine the site overlay with the unique vs return visitors. If you think you should be getting a higher CTR because of the traffic then experiment.
