Im new to PPC so if theres already a post like this just point me to the thread. I have been payin in the area of about $0.80 a click for ads on adwords in the "make money online" niche. Im trying to sell an ebook which has a standard ebook landing page, and all of my ads have a 8/10 quality score, and some have been getting okay conversion rates 2-5%. In the content network Im getting killed with a CTR of 1 click for 101,000 impressions.

Is a CTR of $0.80 high for this niche? I figured I would be paying $0.15-$0.30 a click, since my quality scores are all Great. Ive only been running ads for 5 days...

    how is your ROI?

"make money online" is a pretty general term, try using more specific ones and you should see about $.30 to $.50, give or take.

remember, the more competitive the more expensive it usually is per click.

if you dont mind me asking, are you sending to your own created page or an affiliate link?

My ROI is zero right now lol... but until today it was priced at $25

I set the price at $8 and will raise it once I get the formula right to see where the ceiling is. I'm thinking somewhere around $20-25. I set it at $8 not to make a profit just to see what could convert.

That's the thing, I've tried getting some long tail keywords, and haven't even bothered with ones like "make money online". I paied $.88 for ones like "from home online work" and "at home work online". I have a lot of other long keywords, and it says the ad is active and showing, and it has a great quality score, but has gotten 0 impressions. My daily budget is $10, but I'll probably increase to $20 at least once I have a few sales under my belt.

Its my own site and ebook

Ive run a number of these campaigns for clients and they really never work out that well, mainly because their profit was so small. Ive tested a few different landing pages and purchase/conversion ideas that worked out well with a number of them, but requires a lot of tracking and optimization but you can make it work.

    Thanks for the advice

Any more advice from anyone? I don't want to give up so easily.

Ive gotten the CPC down ten cents which I would say is good, but its still too high.
