What you think is a better computer?

Hey peoples~,
I have a few questions i hope you can answer to me

I have two computers i can buy

the first is Apples iMac:

First is what do you think about both of them?
second is that do you think more sluted for a programmer
thired is my disired for the computer is that - i want to be able to program to Windows using C# and C++ games and normal software, i want to be able to program websites using PHP and ASP.NET and want to run games (not so high, like Harry Potter 6 and next that will release, World Of Worldcrapt, Crysis etc...) So what more sluted for that?

Forth is what more powerfull?

and the last is that - i asked someone about both of them and he said that even if the mac is core 2 duo and the GateWay is quad the mac more powerfull becuse the computer build diffrent, is it true?

I think the second one is more suitable for you especially you want to do Windows programming. It is more powerful... I think.

 

Second One overkills the first one and the CORE 2 is a predecessor of the Core i7 which is also quad and i don't know how a mac with 4GB Ram + a Core 2 could beat a i7 950 with 9GB of Ram

 

Yep, the second will rip through applications. With an i7 you can do almost anything. However if you can take the time to learn, build a computer yourself. You'll learn a valuable skill and save several hundred dollars.

 

i think u missing something : Graphics Card

 

According to me, the first one would be better choice.

The point is that the first is Mac... its not have special abilleties? becuse i know that the second has better comperments but some people said that i can do with mac tings that swith a notmal pc i cant... what you say?

 

I would choose the second one

 

Both are good, just go for the second. If you take the first one, then you MUST add memory

 

I echo the others, second one is best-suited for your needs.

you got the right choice. please bare in my to add up the gc. About the processor, i7 will amazes you. yeah..seriously it will do

Now that you have choose the second one then great for you. Good choice.

 

Second is better for everything but gaming due to the lack of a graphics card.

 

One more thing though -- if you're going to do any video editing you may want the mac!

 

I would go with the second one -- It is my personal opinion though....Mostly because I am not that acquainted with a mac.

 

I have a core-I7 processor and it completely rocks, defo the I7
