What you people think about this thread?

    The only real issue as far as I can see is that networks like this create a lot of links (links = ads, ads = links, two ways of saying the same thing) that have nothing to do with popularity or the quality of a site. Google will have to move away from valuing links as a metric of popularity as more and more ad networking and link exchanging occurs.

    Certainly there is nothing wrong, unethical or black hat about this network, link exchanges or even FFA link directories, they just degrade the value of links as a way of determining quality for the SEs purposes, just as keyword stuffing degraded meta tags to the point where they are no longer significant.

    Ad networking will always be a valid, ethical and useful way to increase exposure and traffic, but as a way to get better SERPs, they will become less and less important as time goes by, simply because the SEs will be forced to use other measures of site quality.
