I don't think they (Google) are going to do much about it in the form of sanctions, as much as they will probably be going to downgrade the importance of linking a little in the future. By then we (Shawn that is, and other boy-wonders :p like him) will all be busy deploying new schemes that are even more sophisticated and generally just works even better for us :)

I'm an optimist - does it show?

I love how the people that dont participate in the coop and want to scare everyone away from it compare it to link farms.

Its nothing more that other sites givng you adspace for free in exchange for you doing the same for them.

That is the same site that made "Digitalpoint" a cuss word so they didnt have to hear about this site- in my opinion, many of them are arrogant morons who will join the adnetwork under hidden names and keep to themselves about its successes. We have a much better community here because people share their true feelings rather than being stiffled by moderators with a gestapo-like mentality.

I agree... I can bet that most of those guys are talking crap about the coop, and have all their sites with the code...

It funny that people are insecure and envious that they acutally actually wish bannings and penalties on their fellow webmasters. People actually hate strangers other over perceived wrongdoings enought to really want hurt them in someway.

Even though in the big sceme of things they are people just like them, tyring to make a few bucks on the internet.

Yes ferret, it seems to be the nature of the beast.

It is all about winning and losing. If this network has been running without any confirmed reports of G banning sites, then we are winning.

On a constructive note, I read a fantastic thread on another forum yesterday. This thread is still ongoing. The people submitting to this thread I got the feeling are seasoned G SEO veterans. Usually I like to submit my 2 cents worth in any thread. But in this one all you can do is take it in.

Yes, Hurricane- an interesting note indeed, something that may prove useful if G thinks we are doing a no-no... maybe we should start with WMW just incase they do ban network sites for some reason... ;) lol.

Hmmmm... here's an idea. What if Shawn added a 10% credit tax to all accounts and created a huge pool of credits that was used to promote "good neighbor" sites like Amazon Yahoo MSN Google WMW and some DMOZ sites to randomly seed the network with non-participating "good neighbors". Would make banning the network impossible.

That would actually be to funny and a great idea. I'll donate 1% no problem.

I vote for Amazon, I can never get enough of them in my Google search results!!!

    Cheers

I just vote no to places like WMW (I doubt a ban ever will come, so we help a competitor for free? I dont think so). I vote YES for dmoz because that just helps ourself as well (in some way).

But I personally dont think we need it, we have enough good neighborhood in it already. I think because my sites have PR and can be found in competitive no1 slots in google, that makes me good neighborhood right? :p

We just need to check it out pretty good. every webmaster should check at least 10 of his links on his site daily. it wouldnt surprise me if people that dont like the co-op try to break it down by adding many bad neighborhood sites to it. on the other hand, to get a weight of at least 10k with a bad neighborhood takes ages, and is not worth it for them if the site gets filtered by shawn.
