I watch a movie and get back to work, also a cup of coffee and local markets helps in putting ourselves back.
Short term - go for a walk or play with my cats Long term - try getting into a better routine & exercise more
Well, as a "Born Again Believer" in Jesus Christ, when I feel down I do exactly what David did in the Bible when he was feeling down, after the Amalekites had burnt the city of Ziklag and took captive the wives and children of his men and they were contemplating stoning him: He encouraged himself in the Lord. (1 Samuel 30:1-6 New King James Version) First, I meditate on the verses of scripture concerning who God says I am, and my position and the privileges I have as a believer, in Him: 1 Peter 2:9, Psalm 3:3, Romans 10:13, Isaiah 26:3. There is always a scripture in the Bible that is relevant to every situation one can find him or herself in.
I work on blogging and try to keep occupied with building relationships. Let me know if anyone else has a blog I can view.
The main thing I do is recognize I'm in a down, sad mood, and try to make sure I don't let that impact the way I treat others too much. I will remind myself that everyone gets sad sometimes, and it always passes eventually (in my personal experience at least.) Sometimes I will listen to music, sometimes take a walk or do something physical, and sometimes watch some TV or movies to take my mind off of it.
Meditation! And, something very weird but obvious that works, is to radiate love! It's the coolest thing, you imagine a white light around the heart area, and you keep growing it until your body is full and you are radiating. Try it sometime! You will not be dissapointed.
If I am at home listen music and if outside then sit in garden, park close my eyes and start deep breathing.
