Blessed are the memories that make us cry as well as make us laugh. For without them how could we teach our young? You go through these trails in life so that when you are an elder, you can pass on all that you've learnt to the next generation. This my friend is called the continuation of life.
I have to admit that I tend to be an escapist when something troubles me or weighs me down. Reading a good book and listening to music is a really effective way for me to lift my spirits up again. Going out for a brisk walk also helps me clear my cluttered thoughts and cheer up.

I go out and do some exercise or if I don't feel good enough to go out I listen to some of my favorite music.

I take a deep breath and remember that I can still take a deep breath. I'm alive. Then, I think of all the things I'm thankful for in my life. As I'm doing so, I start moving. Motion creates emotion. And if your mind is focused on gratitude, then the emotion cultivated is positive and optimistic. This works for me... oh and a big bowl of chocolate fudge ice cream.
