There are many. I would say currently Youtube sites and Adult are among two of the top overused ones. Money making is as a whole but it is so diverse that it encompasses a whole lot of stuff so there are branches that are still viable.

Depends on your definition. If there's still money to be made in them then I don't think they're overused.

Internet marketing is definitely a saturated market. Full of IM's trying to teach people how to make money online and don't know how to themselves.

I would also go for Internet Marketing as an overused niche...other one I think may be overused is the working from home niche...though is somehow correlated to Internet marketing....

Make money on the internet definately. Its been around since the dawn of time (I know that doesn't make sense) and because of all the scammy ones it makes it hard to trust the ones that are legit.

Weight loss, Make Money Online -- too many products, too high competition, too thin profit margins (except for few lucky guys).

Every time I see a new "Make Money Online" blog, or "Make Money Blogging" site I jump for joy because it just means one more webmaster wasting time and money to compete in a vacuum and not with me, or in any niche that I am trying to capitalize on.

If you go to the review section of this or any other forum, every other site or blog is "Make Money Online", "Webmaster", "Music Download" or "Warez" sites.
Most of these will not make it, become dormant within a year, and nver get the domain renewed.

If you look at your niche, although there are thousands of sites that throw thier hat in the ring every week, you really have only to worry about a hand ful of sites for real competition.
If you work hard, you can place higher than a good majority of them since most people don't keep up on their SEO once they have attained a preferable search result.

hmansfield I am glad that my signature will make you jump for joy. If it fails like you predict then I can comfort myself with the fact that it was not a complete waste of time because at least it made one person happy.

But I agree with you. The make money online is a very popular niche.

LOL. I would never hope for anyone's failure, just the opposite. With so many crappy "Money Making" blogs out there, there is always room for one that can offer a fresh and unique perspective and insight, rather than just rehashing stuff they read on other peoples blogs.
