We know all of us hate scraper websites and the fact is that they also gain bad repute + poor PR + less search engine saturation + less link popularity etc....
But what would you say about wisegeek.com it has PR5 ,Link Popularity 2118 and Search Engine saturation 48000 pages.
This website is purely made for Adsense. But i could not understand why it has PR5 and other good values?

I dont know much about SEO, but I think ,having thousands of pages on your site -linking to the homepage , should give a big boost to the PR of the homepage..isnt it?

Pagerank is entirely a link factor, Has nothing to do with the quality or content of a particular page.

By the way, I would not categorize that as a made for adsense site. It is re-using information from other sources, so they may potentially be issues there, but in terms of layout and design it is not what I would call made-for-adsense.

If you remove all the ads from the site what do you have? You still have a functional web site. A made for adsense is not really going to have anything to it if you take the ads off of it, or it will make very little if any sense.

Clearly that site is optimized and designed to make money for adsense, but I don't see a problem with the site as it applies to the Adsense TOS.

I noticed wisegeek.com sometime ago. I wouldn't be surprised if they were making some very good adsense money. Besides SEO, they pull in traffic through SEM (Adwords) and do a lot of nice things with their site. Check out the search at the bottom of the page, if you have JavaScript enabled, you'll see a cool technology called AJAX in operation.

I'd like to own that site.

Yep, I'd like to own it too. I'd say it would be worth a pretty penny. They've put a tonne of work into the layout even though it looks very clean.

Notice their pics next to the adsense ads - not just stock photos - custom jobs.

I can't see google having a problem with them at all. On their links page they say they love google plus they are providing pretty nice content - I got sucked in reading about all sorts of stuff in the gadgets section.

    Sold.

I dont know if there is any original content on the site or not, but still from what ever I looked at, the content seems good if you are a beginner in any of the fields.

Google may actually penalise its PR if it finds excessive duplicate content.

Using the Web developer toolbar extension for Firefox it's pretty easy to tell if a site is "made for AdSense" or not. Just disable JavaScript and CSS for any given page and see if the page has readable content on it. I'd say WiseGeek.com is not a "made for AdSense" site by that criteria. WiseGeeks.com, on the other hand, is revealed as having no content.
