Some SEO experts are advising not to use Disavow tool as we don't have much knowledge about links.. We need all kind of links so that our links should look natural. If you have good understanding of links then you may use, what would you say?
Those "SEO experts" are full of shit. This is more moronic myths being spread around by black hats/tinfoil hats/spammers. Have you read Google Webmaster Guidelines? It's not about making it "look natural" (spam/manipulation), but actually about being natural (earn links). Read the following blog posts, then answer your own question: Earn links. Earn links. Content marketing strategy to earn links (what a surprise).
If a link is clearly spam and your site may benefit from removing it, do it. Stop listening to "SEO Experts" and do whats best for your business.
Its ok to use the disavow tool. You only have to focus on the links reported in the Google Webmaster Tools. and you dont have to worry about damaging other people because it does not happen. Be aware of the site-wide disavow possibility, it will make your life easier.
So what about natural links.. a natural link means it contains all things. quality links less quality links spam links nofollow dofollow links from all the sources..
I wouldn't use it, unless you find some pretty crappy and spammy links pointing to your site. The reason why they introduced this tool is to fight negative SEO impact on legitimate businesses.
I agree: a natural link means it contains all things, but not a lot of it that clearly shows you were using the same patterns of link building. quality links less quality links spam links nofollow dofollow links from all the sources.. Its natural to have links pointing to your site that you did not want. Another natural finding we have experimented with is, if you have 1000 pages of products or Info pages, but you only have a low number of pages with links to them, this makes it unnatural looking too. Basically, spread out your link building to cover all your pages. Dont focus all your SEO and dont use Money terms. Use domain etc, anchor that an authority site would allow, rather then keyword anchor text that clutters their pages. Let your site architecture, on-page elements, and content do the rest of the work. !!
Of course, I agree with you, we also have to maintain natural links and if we don't have complete understanding of using this tool, we shouldn't use if we are running any small site.
I think, you can use this tool when you got warning message about unnaterual links in your WMT, in other cases this tool may be meaningless
Of course, it should be used with cautions, and if you have clear understanding of using this tool then you can use it.
I've heard only a few people had success with it. It's waay too tedious & slow in my opinion. Even if you did submit the links, there's no guarantee google will act on disavowing them.
Ok, first thing is the disavow tool is really just BS. And the articles linked here and the point being made is also really just crap spun from the mouths of GOOGLE. For example the point being from the first article that getting links just for the sake of links wont work because Google has or is devaluing links from sources like squido, ezine becaue they are places to submit articles only and no real traffic sources will actually utilize those resources. HA!!! then Why does EZINE have a Google PR 6. etc? You must keep in mind that the ranking mechanism employed by google is a MACHINE-A algorithm with Logic imputted to classify, rank, and index sites. It is noty a human being!! All it knows is a certain protocol for certain guidelines. There are literally billions of websites that exists and there will never be a manual review by Google for all of these existing websiites, so the MACHINE BIG G uses considers many factors and it can not tell the difference between a link at squido vs a link at New York Times other than PAGE RANK. The disavow tool is only Google's way to scare people into telling on themselves with data they dont or ever could possibly have. If just spreading spam backlinks really effects a site then it would be easy for one to target all of their competitors and just blast 5k forum profile links a day at their sites and get your comp deindexed. lol It just doesnt work like that. Google first thing has no idea who, where or why those backlinks came from. Google has a ranking system that gives sites a PR ranking, and building links whether "earned or not Earned" is no difference! In fact what is the difference between Earned and not earned? lol It is all the same stuff. The real issue with google updates were to get rid of all the Blog adsense sites that were ranking ofr irrelevant terms on crazy search queries only to target traffic for adsense revenue. That was the real target of Big G's updates. Nothing more and nothing less. Dont beleive Google and what they say, its only a machine not a human, it follows codes, commands, and imputted logic- understanding the algo is all that matters in search engine optimization.
If your website is spammed by bad backlinks, then you can use this tool. First of all, you have to check you backlinks deeply, if too many backlinks are from PR0 sites or spamm sites which are not related with your theme or landing page have 1000+ backlinks, Then you can create such backlinks list and submit in Disavow tool.
It damn useful that you cannot ignore it because all webmaster for sure will have some links and do not like google to crawl it and they would be some competitors outside doing negative SEO towards your site . So you need the disallow tools to tell Google that don't crawl the links.
Webmasters who flock to the disavow tool are just acting as pawns in Google's game. Google says "jump", and webmasters line up and ask "how high?" That's kind of pathetic. An unintended consequence of using the disavowal tool is negative link velocity. If you take away a bunch of links in one swoop, you should have a plan on how to replace those links quickly.
How you can get traffic from Squidoo.. Even i am submitting some articles on Squidoo but i cant get any response from this. Please share your experiences which will help me to generate traffic to my website.
By asking webmasters to remove/disavow links to their websites, Google is being ridiculous. It's like "You want to mess up your competition? Pay someone to spam them with low quality links"
