Hello, I've got a wonderful new mobile marketing start-up that is incredibly functional and polished. Now, I need to determine the proper pricing to incentivize Resellers. Please take a look at the product, the potential prices below, and tell me honestly what you would need to make in order to resell the service, and if the prices should change. All feedback is appreciated The service is at smartdepartment.net The Service includes two Products: 1. A Plan – We offer three subscription plans, each with a monthly or yearly price. The subscription plans only differ in how many text message credits they offer. Here, I would like to offer Monthly or Yearly Recurring Commissions... • Mobile Website + 400 Text Messages/month – Monthly Price: $25 | Yearly Price: $250 • Mobile Website + 900 Text Messages/month – Monthly Price: $32 | Yearly Price: $320 • Mobile Website + 1400 Text Messages/month – Monthly Price: $40 Monthly | Yearly Price: $400 2. Build Service Add-On – For Build Service, where we design everything for the client and hand them the keys to a beautiful mobile website completely ready for text message blasting, we charge a one-time fee of $350. Here I would like to offer One-time Commissions...
1) I don't like smartdepartment.net name (I suppose smart stands for "smartphone", but department does not rhyme well with it) 2) I suppose your target clients are small business that don't want to invest into own mobi site development. Those may be already paying regular $10/month for a regular shared hosting. For them $25/month for mobile site with far less traffic than general site will be a hard sell. I would see it more sellable as "mobile website design" sale + low monthly hosting fee. hey you asked for an honest feedback, and this is just my opinion.
That's a nice looking site but I agree with the post above that the name isn't the greatest. For business that have a website you haven't said if they will be getting a .mobi version included or if you are creating a mobile subdomain (or if you do I didn't see it). Also, I didn't see who the text blasts would be sent to. Is it to their clients or do you just send them to the local area? Finally, if you build a mobile site for $350 then in your packages, to offer a mobile version plus all the texts for $250 a year, is too low. I'd assume your main profits will come from building the sites rather than the texts but you will have to work on their requests each month for a year after you get paid for little profit (believe me - that sucks - I've done it!). Overall though, nice website, good idea and I wish you well
Clean easy web site I like it. I agree with the above users about the name. I despise the name though. It sounds irrelevant to the web site. Side question...only because I've developed an SMS application. Are you using a 3rd party service to deliver TEXTS, do you have hardware delivering the texts, or are you using provider text emails (ie: verizon - ). If you are sending via email are you using a database to determine the provider/carrier?
Looks like a nice website. I'm not a big fan of the name, and also, the costs are a little too high in todays market and many people won't be willing to put that much into a mobile website because for them it's cleaner and easier to get an app so maybe you guys should offer a complimentary app.
Thanks for responding everyone! You've made me realize that the main site does not communicate the service well enough, so I've been redoing it with a different marketing angle that I believe is more accurate. atxsurf – Thanks for your comments! We offer much more than just mobile websites. Check out the main site again if you have time and see if it better communicates everything. whitewave – Thanks for you positive comments! Businesses get a subdomain on smartdepartment.net, but they can easily create a mobile subdomain on their existing website and use it for their SmartDepartment mobile website. Instructions are included in their Dashboard. Also, I'm not sure what you mean by your second comment about "working on their requests each month." Everything related to the Text Message functionality is automated. Take care! Netstar – Thanks for the feedback! The Text Message functionality is the result of custom coded integration with Twilio. cameronpalte – Thanks for your thoughts! We offer much more than just Mobile Websites, check out the front page and see if it communicates everything better. Also, our Mobile Websites work just like apps and they really give Apps a run for their money. Our mobile websites work on all devices (for the widest possible reach) and you can also distribute them via Text Messages. Again, thanks for the feedback. I'm still hoping for some responses to my main question too, which is: What Would You Need To Make To Resell This Service?
my comments were actually exactly from a potential affiliate point of view. People promote programs that are believed to sell well (but there are often also EPC stats to support that) Until your program has a proven performance record, and if you would want to fasttrack it, you might want to offer to affiliates something to look more like no-brainer easy sell. Such as for example $2 per-lead program for 1 page FREE mobile website! Then it will be up to you and not affiliate to convert it into the sale (at whatever price your believe is reasonable for this service). Nobody wants to invest time/traffic into something unknown. sorry if it sounds harsh, again it is only my opinion
