I am currently working with a team of coders, web designers and site maintenance staff on a 'Services' style website. Basically this site will offer many online services, hopefully you will udnerstand that theme of our services from the list of current ideas we have below. Basically I wouldl ike to hear your input, I am sure you have all heard of/used such services and you must all knwo how popular they are. All services will be FREE, at least on a basic level. Anyway this list should help you understand the kidn of thing we are thinking about, comments + additions are welcome, let usk now what you want, or what related services you have used before + liked, or used regularly. Basically we want to offer all these kind of services under one banner URL Shortener --- (Like TinyURL, turns http://www.thisdomain.com/suchandsuch/somemorestuff/evenmorefolders/bahhthisisgettingboring.html?r=373954389 into ---- http://domain.com/31254) Proxy Site -- Browse the web safely and simply, encryption, images and javascript capable, all runs in your browser, nice and siompole nothing to install, bypass your work/college proxy/web filtering) Image Hosting -- Like the great ImageShack itself File Converter --- Conversion of many popular file types, msot popular? Microsoft Word -> PDF Temporary Email --- simlpy type in an alias and an email will be made isntantly, no password (maybe for membeship) use this email for signing up to things that will liekyl send you spam etc, or to be Anonymous, aliases are removed every 3 days-ish (maybe save them for membership) Let's hear form you all! __Edit : First idea from PM HTML Editor -- Free online web based HTML editor
The only bad thing is that those services allready exist on many different versions. Something that you should ask yourself is what extra you are giving to your members?
Nikolas - MAttUK hit the nail on the head pretty much I know these services are available elsewhere, but we want to bring all services to one domain, all nicely bundled together for ease of use Also we will be adding extra functionality to all ofthese systems, they wont be cookie cutters. And again, Matt was right, these were the obvious services we came up with, we want to hear from you guys what new you would like to see
