Nowadays you can go with either VPS which is fully yours but usually have not much RAM (1gig) and CPU or with reseller plan which usually have high-end config (about 8G of RAM) but shared with other resellers. So if you're planning to sell hosting, what would you buy: vps or reseller?
It would depend on a few factors such as traffic, type of site and available funds to name a few. Lots of people start with a reseller hosting account to start with. Thanks Brian
I find vps are good for people who need more resource like for high end site that use more cpu and database and also that get more hits
VPS. If you have a VPS, you can actually call it "your own", whereas with a reseller, people can/may find out you're a reseller, and go with the parent company.
How many accounts are you planning on selling? Is the VPS managed or unmanaged? If it's unmanged, do you have the skills required to set up and maintain the server, and to tweak it so that it runs well with such a low memory limit?
Big thanks for replies and votes, this is not for me but for my company, I'm thinking what to implement first. I appreciate your help.
If you're selling hosting, then a reseller account is a MUST (that or a dedicated server). The VPS will not give you enough resources.
If you are ok with server management and setup, have all licenses in the pocket in any case VPS would be better option to go with
