What would you do with a worker?

I see these threads talking about "What would you do with $5000.00 to build your site", here is a bit of a different take.

Lets say you had a worker for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. This person is simply a computer user with no expert skill set in any area but could find his way around and could learn fairly quickly.

How would you utilize this person to build your traffic, sales, links, etc. What areas would you focus them on to best build your site or business.

For such a person I would suggest to consider a complete off page. Which is really an easy task to be done and easy to understand. Start with directory submission and social bookmarking.

I would tell him some promotion tips, such as forums, blogs, E-mail, etc, then he can help to promote my site.

If he knows he was around the computer and picks up things real quick I would unleash him on the big social networks. I would have him set up Twitter and Facebook accounts for your site to build giant networks to start.

Then I would have him sign up on 3 or 4 forums like this to absorb everything he can and ask an insane amount of questions with your signature link. That would be a good starting point

I would have him focus on design because this is my weakpoint...and obviously a crucial area.

I'd find programs and user manuals and websites like digitalpoints, and have him spend the first three or so months learning as much as he could. Then, after those three months, he'd be of fantastic use to me! From there, my empire would consume the world.

If that person doesn't understand the topic or the niche that I am in, then that person could harm me more than helping me. I usually want to make sure the person that I am hiring understands my business, values and the content that is required. If they don't understand and they go around to post comments on blogs, etc, then they may say things that aren't true values of my sites.

However they can definitely learn and then provide constructive feedback/comments on blogs, forums, etc to increase targeted traffic.

Ask him to write articles for you, maybe 5 to 10 a day, then let him link build for seo, then add content everyday.
