Those words are...well just words when you're 6 FEET UNDER and you're still going to be dead and going to be dead for a stranger. However police officers and firefighters do a hell of a job when it comes to saving lives and they have chosen this line of occupation and choose the life of a stranger before there own in these kind of circumstances.

Only thing is that cops have guns and i don't and if there was a fire in a building and somebody needed to be rescued in combination with people with weapons the firefighters would call the police.

You forget that there are multiple knifes in play! yo-yo and you have seen to many movies if you would really think you stand a chance going into a full fight with them.

Only thing you could do is take one swing when running for the door and let them chase you and outrun them (depending if you're not that slow or humongously fat) going into a full fight with them is just mad and most likely get you killed or mained for life.

This has nothing to do with honor but more with common sense in my oppinion. Bravoury? Yes, you have to be brave to take on multiple knifes even if they are not large rambo knifes but it is also stupid at the same time.

I would not risk my life for a stranger with the mindset i am in right now but human mind is unpredictable and you never what is going to happen so who knows?

Good for you if you know by forehand you want to be dead and saving a strangers life in the process, maybe you should try to join the police force or the firefighters;)

Perhaps you are not aware of this, but police and firefighters go through extensive training.

You also seem to think that if a police officer were in the starbucks without his firearm he would have just charged the guy and started throwing fists.

Probably the last thing they would have done. They would have tried to talk to the guys and keep them settled down, not just started a brawl.

I'm one of those people who's mouths seem to disconnect from the brain at critical times of danger and so would involuntarily begin a verbal assault and have to deal with the consequences.

Ah, Scotland... yes, I have relatives there  Those Scots just LOVE soccer games...

Yes, pretty much. Except they don't wear the red uniforms except for special occasions like visiting their moms and where I lived they drove around backwards in cars.

You have to remember that Canada is an officially bilingual country, si it's spelled differently for females...

    Male: fiance, blond, mountie, employer

    Female: fiancee, blonde, mountee, employee

LMAO! So true :) In every place I've worked for SEO, I think there's usually been about 30 guys and maybe 3 women (who were paid less than they deserved). Pretty lame.

    Blame your elected representatives for:

    1. Making concealed carry permits required.
    2. Making concealed carry permits difficult or impossible for citizens without political connections to acquire.
    3. Making firearms unnaturally expensive for regular citizens with a plethora of ridiculous and arcane regulations.

And blame yourself for voting for those idiots or not voting against them.

Soccer moms with guns is a very scary image.

Hockey moms would be even worse...

Guess it comes in handy living in Arizona where anyone over 21 can walk into the gun store and leave with an unregistered Assault Rifle literally 10 minutes later.

I currently own 2 handguns and a shotgun, and keep one in my car all the time. I'll be taking the CCW permit soon (it's only 8 hours) as well.

Edz, I can see you lack honor and courage, so it's ok, go ahead and keep putting me down. At least my conscience would be clear if that cashier got hurt because I did everything I could to stop it.

    Yikes!

Political gun lobby versus anti-gun lobby alert. This thread has morphed

The stabbings and floggings will continue until morale improves...

Inflicting pain on someone in any circumstance doesn’t equate to courage.

Letting everyone get a gun when they want and carry it will not do much from what studies have shown. If you are to fight against an attacker, you are just more likely to have the tables turned on you. (was reading into home security for a blog article last week, don’t have the references on me. Think it was an FBI report)

Best bet it to find a way to make things safe so guns aren’t needed. Guns are like a bandage on a severed arm. Only make the situation look better.

So you feel the death penalty is wrong, but it's ok if you just dole out your own form of justice with your firearms. I guess it's ok if you are the one doing the executing.

You have courage and honor yet you're ashamed to call yourself an America.

I guess you're a walking contradiction then (with guns!!!).

I don't see what that has got to do with it Will:confused: you got a gun or you don't and if you don't have one i wouldn't blame anyone for it. Don't know why you brought this up really with all respect.
I am from The Netherlands and overhere you can't buy guns in stores such as wallmarket what is totally redicoulus by the way. That whole gun thing in the States is BS.

This has nothing to do with lack of honor or courage:rolleyes: and i am not putting you down as you said. Please don't be so quickly offended because it's getting in the way of holding a normal discussion.

And surely your conscience would be clear because you would be six feet under if you would attack and commence and take on a full all out fight with three guys and with knives involved:rolleyes:
Like i said before i would admire you for risking your own life for a stranger but it's not my choice especially when the ods are like that.

Anyhow i wouldn't go into a full frontal fight, my approach would be far better it may sound hilarious but it would be effective if the situation would require it and i wouldn't put my life down the line in contrast with your approach that has no thought what so ever in it.

Sorry, if i offended you but i really think you should think before you act and especially if it's your life that is on the line.
