From what I've heard the best way to defeat a group of attackers is to get them to form in a straight line and run at you one by one while you crane kick each one.
No. I would have said... "Is too!" and I would have retorted "Is not!" I would have easily convinced them. This reminds me though.. A while back one of my best friends was a drive-through bank teller. He opened up one morning with another teller and three guys with guns got them as they went into the bank. They ended up handcuffing an older lady to the filing cabinet inside and they actually took my friend hostage and drove away from the bank with him. They then handcuffed him to his steering wheel as another car came and picked them up. He was there for about an hour before a passerby saw something amiss and they got the police there. Anyways, it doesn't pay to be a hero. I don't disagree with what discreet did. My first thought would be to try and "discreetly" use my cell phone to call for help. After that you just kind of have to go with the flow. As for Martial Arts moves I definately would have whipped out the Karate Kid Crane Kick if they did not fall for the finger in the pocket trick.
Some times you just have to do the right thing, no matter the consequences. Good work Discreet! P.S. Consequences still hurt, but that's just part of being a citizen.
yeah, I'm with you on this one Discreet. I would have phoned the cops on my mobile under the table and let them trace the call. If the drunk guys gave me any grief they would have got hot coffee in the face, then I would have tried to leg it.
If they can barly stand up, simply give them a few punches, knock them on da ground, give them a few more blows, and call da cops.
That's your response to everything. I've asked you about 10 questions and that's always your first answer. Time for adult diapers.
Having managed a couple cafes, I would say that if they are nearly fall-down drunk, armed only with a couple little knives, there is a counter between us and I have multiple pots of scalding hot coffee (and fresh, wet, hot coffee grounds which are essentially napalm), well, I pity the fools. Well, actually no, I don't.
Heheeh... that reminds me of when a gang of punks with knives tried to mug a friend of mine and a couple of his buddies on a golf course. The old guys just patiently explained that golf clubs were much better weapons than knives and the punks walked off sullenly.
Having been in situations where: Tending bar, knives numbchucks and guns have been pulled (not on me, but other patrons) Witness to one murder, while tending bar, girl was shot 8 times not 2 feet away from me, with a barful of people watching in horror Witness to an attempted murder, while being a patron in a bar (this happened 2 days before the murder above) I also had the shooter point a gun to my head and try to take me with him because I saw the whole thing. Victim of a mugging, where my date took off running after the mugger (and got shot for his efforts - got my purse back though!) One cannot answer they would definitively do this or that. It depends on the situation and your mindset at the time. For instance: I've never had an issue stepping between bar patrons to end a fight. Never got hurt (except once when I stepped in a domestic fight - got my shirt ripped off for that one - I would do it again as well - the girl was getting the crap beat out of her). I have ended many a fight no matter what the weapon. IN the case of the murder: I stood absolutely dumbfounded. I could not move.I watched the guy shoot this girl 8 times, put his gun down and drink his beer. I went to the phone, called the cops, got a shower curtain and covered the girl up. She was still breathing. I then walked out of the bar. In the case of the attempted murder: I stood there absolutely dumbfounded. Mostly because I had no where to run: where I happened to be was pretty much in a corner. When the shooter left, he pointed the gun to my head and stated: yer comin with me. To which I replied: shove it up your ass. He left. In the case of the mugging: well, I took off after the mugger in the car I was in. Except for the mugging, I was sober for all of them.
What do you think of police officers and fire fighters? Ever heard the words "bravery", "honor", etc...
Oh my, why am I too late for this thread.. Well, probably I already pissed on my pants before I could do somethign stupid..
Wow! You're a trouble magnet! Everywhere you go people seem to shoot each other and stuff. Remind me never to go for a beer with you.
Actually, in many parts of Canada they do - they are the only police in many areas. When I lived in Northern BC, for example, they were the local police.
