Please review our new website http://www.youwereme.com. Is it clear, what this site is all about? What do you make of its design?
Yes, I can understand the purpose the site serves. Suggestions: a) The bg color is very attractive b) I am not satisfied with the text color if it were in black or brown, I hope it would have suited the bg more. c) The Login button at the left hand side does not look great. Change the color pls d) Try to add unique features that will make a impact in visitors mind. You service is only a small fraction of what Yahoo Answers does. Isn't? e) Have a small flash banner that displays the latest Q&A posted continuously one after another
I agree with rajesh on his second point -- the white is a little harsh and hard to read, so try using black or a light-ish brown font. I recommend shifting the login button down and filling in the space with the login fields. It'll allow for users to quickly login without being redirected to a new page. Other than that though I really like the site. Good luck!
I think it is a great idea! I would beef up the arrows in the "logo" or actually re-do it altogether. I would also add a drop shadow behind the back plate and change the background behind it to a middle grey. Great effort so far - keep it up!
First thing I notice (sticks out like a sore thumb to me...but i'm a harsh critic sometimes...) is the pixelated rounded corners in the two white borders...perhaps you should go with some images to create those rounded corners so they won't look so choppy? I also agree with the white text...it's a little bright for the background colors you are using. "Please keep in mind that this is no professional advising service" possibly change to "Please keep in mind that this is not a professional advising service" ? other than that...it's a very nice concept for a site...advertise it correctly, and actually get enough people to have 'instant chat' (messenger service type stuff) like you mention on there and it could go far...
Hi The below text got displayed when i try opening the url Unfortunately, your browser doesn't support the features we offer on our site. Please return with one of the following browsers: * Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or later versions * Firefox version 1.5 or later versions * Opera version 9.0 or later versions * Apple Safari version 2.0 or later versions (excluding version 3 beta) * Netscape version 7.2 or later versions We are sorry for the inconvenience. I tried opening it with Fire Fox Mozill 5.0
Mozilla has it's own oft developed browser/mail package apart from Firefox mate. They've just about abandoned it with the success of Firefox however. The web site looks good, but I'm not sold on the glaring colors. As someone who would be seeking advice, I'd prefer a site with muted colors (light blues, soft yellows). I asked 4 of my co-workers and they agreed as well. The layout and placement is great. The colors and pixelations at the edges are the only real detractors.
Thank you all very much for your reviews! I highly appreciate your comments! We are currently working on an update of the layout. I will reply to this thread once we are finished with the update. bobbyswebzone: what user agent did you use? Can you please post your exact user agent (http://whatsmyuseragent.com)? Probably it's something we need to fix. Got one more question: did the page load time was ok for you? Or did you experience a remarkable delay?
Can you please have another look at the site? http://www.youwereme.com We adjusted the color, changed the text and added a little video intro. What to you make of the video? Do you use a video-introduction/-howto/-tutorial/-whatever on your website?
Nice idea with the video. It doesn't make sense though... it's a 4 minute video of a user that asks a question and waits (and waits, and waits, and waits), only to receive no answer to their question. The user then gets frustrated, quits out of the session and rates their chat buddy's performance as very good (?!). I suggest you remake the video, but instead plan it before doing so. Get a friend or family member and write down what you're going to say. It'll make the video a whole lot shorter and much more easier to understand when the user's question is actually answered. All the best, Liam
