Wasn't my youth, thankfully i never suffered with acne at all. Only the one occasional spot very rarely. Come on Julesy Baby, I'm still waiting for your autobiography. Now not only do I wanna hear about Scotland, HK, your cute kids, your morrocan fella, & Tenerife.. but add your pimply and uncomfortabe youth to the list.
debunked & dreamshop- Did I swim against you guys. lol Back in HS we swam against your schools all the time. Aptos had a good swim team....... I remember. Hey wait......... Didn't Aptos have a good little mexican place by a river...... or creek. It was called little something....... that place was fun. When I was growing up we spent sometime over in that area. My dad worked for Safeway all in that area..... Aptos, ScottsValley and well around there.
I ran track against Aptos in 1987-1989. I wasn't in the district (Carmel High, a ways south), so I only competed against Aptos at the regionals. I remember running 4x100 relay against a musclebound guy who looked intimidating but was too short to be a challenge. I was happy about that victory, because I was a skinny white boy in a sea of very large, very tall, very fast black men who laughed when I stepped up to the starting line (and usually they laughed for good reason). Oh well, it was still fun. -Tony
aha....... I played Waterpolo and Carmel High was one of my favorite. They always kicked our ass so we played dirty. hehe The last game I remember the coach pulled me out then said stand close to the edge of the pool. When the action was at the other end he pushed me in and I went underwater to where the action was. We played about three minutes before anyone noticed we had and extra guy in the pool. Carmel is a nice place to be from.
OK......... When I was 16 I used to take girls to the beach (Aptos) ....... it was cheaper than a hotel.
No dude...... No! There is a statue of an octopus right by the pier. Right down from Joe's Crab shack a bit.
That's not Mission Beach...... is it? I remember the octopus and the sparkly sidewalks..... and the drinks at Hooters and Joe's.
Yeah, my good high school friend Carlos Moore was on the waterpolo team. Everybody played dirty. He showed me some huge bruises near his waist once, and said, "the lower half of the body is under water, so the ref can't see the foul...." I was like, "yikes, glad I don't play, thankyouverymuch." -Tony
When I used to work.... oh I mean for other people we had a scavenger hunt there. Actually my wife and I used to go to Joe's quite a bit. My daughter liked Hooters cause the chicks would play with her.
RLS always had great players from every sport. That is very close to your old HS. I actually had a girlfriend that went their (RLS) for a while.
