Yeah, why do people get bored of childhood...rush to grow up and then long to be children again! Go and play knock and run, or hide and seak...go and build dens and play cops and robbers...put on your rollerblades and go whizzing round the streets....Step away from the adsense..I repeat..step away from the adsense!!
I would do the same things if I had a time machine to go back to when I was 16, but maybe I would make different choices at a later stage, early twenties I would say. I was very happy at the time. If I was 16 today, well, I can't think of being 16 nowadays, having a mobile, an internet connected pc, etc. I can't frame myself in that picture.
I had a pretty dysfunctional childhood and worked a lot growing up, but I don’t know if I would change it, because who knows I might have ended up a complete douche if my life would have been different.
Well, everyone has a dream , and my dream is to be a great webmaster and make a lot of money. So instead of wasting my time on playing video games and such, I'll just follow my dreams and do whatever I need to do. Well, I do hang out with friends and things like that, but I got bored so quickly whenever I do that. I think computer is the only thing that keeps entertaining me. My life is boring without it, since my parents are at work the whole time ,I'm at home all by myself , and I can't drive. Where else do you expect me to go? lol Adsense is not really that bad , at least it gives me some more bucks on my allowance to buy new CDs and stuff. I would have started on Adsense 2 years ago if I knew about it. Dealing with Adsense is a big challenge , and each time you solve the problem, you learn a lot of things. So believe me, Adsense is the greatest thing I've ever known Of course having great times with friends and family are the best, but spending a little bit of times on your future's business is not bad, rite?
I think it's good to start work early and then do it full blown when you become an adult. Like I've said, high school was the biggest waste of time for me. The only thing I've learned is how to smoke cigs and get drunk. Sad for real!
with the porn freely available on the net if I was 16 today I doubt I would ever leave the house.... well cept for more lube..
I actually took Latin and shit if I remember one word ... oh yeh: veni vidi vici and e tu brute (I think it meant "Whaddup homie" in rome)
Lol I did Latin for 3 years and Can't remember shit either. Same as French, German and Spanish, Maths and Physics. As fast as I was learning, I was killing off my brain cells..I didn't stand a chance [Thank god the dumb blonde image is in right now...]
The one thing we share about our teen years, sitetutor, is our lack of love for school. When I graduated high school, I clearly identified with the words, "free at last." Caryl/Compar both use a word that aplty describes education in America today. It was bad enough when I came along but know you had it much worse due to the generation gap. I come from a family of educators, have been in the trenches and would still be were it not for the fact I am taking care of my elderly Mother who can not live or stay alone. Faced with the possibility of sending a child to public school or homeschooling, I would probably opt for homeschooling but in many ways know that is not ideal. Homeschooling creates children who are lightyears ahead of their peers mentally but lacking in social skills. Shannon
Hey ST, if you had a massage and cooking to your Latin for your dating profile I’m sure you’ll get all kinds of yeses
I used to laugh at my mum when she'd say ''Carmella..Your school days are the best days of your life'' But now I, personally, can see she was right.
That part I can disagree on seeing many examples of the opposite. Lightyears ahead mentally and in social skills. Take Josh here, he is 13 but does better communicating and relating than some 20 year olds! I know people with kids that were homeschooled and are in their mid 20's now that are better socially adjusted. My children to me are ahead of their peers socially, and we are complimented all the time on their ability to talk with adults on a much greater level. Although I do know that there are people who claim homeschooling who don't teach anything to their children and just do it so they don't have to deal with the problems their kids have at school. - those tend to be the worst kids... [/end rant]
I partially agree with you debunked. I think most home schooled kids are better educated and they do communicate with adults better. You touched on the problem though. Home-schooled kids are ahead of their peers socially. That’s what makes it hard for them to deal with their peers. I’ve seen it time and time again; home-schooled kids would rather hang out with adults then socialize with their peers. I think too many times home schooled children don’t get interaction with other children and it affects them. It’s the socialization that is missing from home-schooled kids. However if they are involved in other social activities such as league sports, camps, or similar activities then I think it’s probably a better all around education.
I started working at 13, fulltime in summer, nights and weekends during the year in the family business. Missed out on a lot, but also gained a lot of experience, that is the only way I still can keep up a 80/hr work week! Would go back and do the things "normal" kids did, work harder on getting laid, and start the partying earlier so college wasn't such a blur...
