What would you do IF you bought a link from a DP member and you then found it showed as fake PR in a pagerank checker

I used www.pagerankchecker.net and it shows a PR6 that i recntly aquired as being fake PR

    would you
1/ send the member a message asking for an explanation and wait for a response or
2/ open a dispute in paypal to get the money back blacklist the seller and issue a negative Itrader

I have chosen choice 1 at this time but i would be interested in knowing what you would do

You shouldn't get yourself in this situation to begin with. There are so many fake PR sellers on DP. Use due diligence and check PR before buying links.

That does stink, the best thing you can do is contact the seller and explain the situation to them. Tell them you would like your money back and there's no negotiation.

If they don't comply then the only option is to open a dispute through PayPal and luckily they can freeze your payment until the dispute is resolved.

Worst case scenario, once you've exhausted all your options, simply ask them to remove your link.

Well I'm very glad you did the right thing and asked the person for an explanation as not every link seller is always aware of the possibility of fake PR.

And even astute link sellers can sometimes have an off day and let one slip under their guard, especially if the site looks really professional or looks aged and has good content.

The real test comes in how they handle your request. They may well be quality sellers who you can work with long term or maybe not, time will tell.

    1. Contact the user, ask for refund.
    2. If it doesn't happen - leave negative iTrader.

Ask them to return the money and apread the news to other advertisers on that site, cause it really annoying and not a honest thing to do for the faked site.

Paypal is really bad. I try one time. They only paid me less than half of the money. I met almost the same thing with you.

well Andrew I am gald that I gave the seller the oportunity as it seems he was not aware of the problem.
he has offered a refund or a replacement and I am happy with that.
However it does show that you need to be vigilant when you are buying links and make sure you get waht you pay for

If that's the case, try to contact them first and ask for a money back. If there's no response, report them to DP Admin..

If that happened to me, I would first contact the domain owner and ask them for an explanation and a refund, if that fails, file a chargeback on paypal and leave them negative feedback. You can also make a post/thread on this forum and some others warning people that they are scammers in an attempt to tarnish their fraudulent business.
