How much would you charge to implement an MySQL database and a simple login area in PHP for a customer?

$30 for the entire job? Writing the PHP, creating and setting up database tables, and implementation into a pre-existing website?

Sounds on the cheap side to me.

Depends what you mean by implementation into an existing website.

Are users already registered on the site and you need to match user logins to an existing table of users? Is their a standard template to use? A vanilla sheet is always easier to code from as you don't have to worry about matching logins to existing users or integrating with existing code.

Login Scripts aren't much work. Especially if you are starting from scratch. Ifs its a basic script, $30 is fair. If you've a complex script already in place that requires integration with a login the cost would be more.

Yeah, in this case it would be a 'vanilla' sheet.

I would have thought that it would cost alot more.

On the assumption that it would take just one hour to create the database, make the tables, write the PHP from scratch, incorporate login fields to the pre-existing site, create a 'new user' page. I would be surprised that a web design company would charge $30 per hour.

    But, I stand corrected :)

It'll take longer than an hour, but its not complex code - its fairly run of the mill and people will do it for $10 and hour around DP - three hours work if even that. You go to a professional web company operating on the high street and you'll pay $100 so yeah, maybe you could be right!
