This is my new go to gift. My Dreamlines wedding dress sketch and suit sketch. I have one and love it. I have given it as a shower sketch gift and as a wedding gift certificate. Both were a hit!

It is hard to help you pick a specific gift. However, it should be based upon your knowledge of your friend and his/her future spouse. You want to send a message that you thoughtfully picked out something that is based upon your knowledge of what they like, what they are into, etc., as a couple. For example, if they are outdoorsy types, you might want to get them something that they can use together outdoors. If they enjoy a specific activity, perhaps you can find them something in that realm that will add to their enjoyment. Of course, when all else fails, you can get them something that you know they need for their new "nest."

The other thing to do is to find out if they have registered with a store and already selected the gifts that they would like to receive. That makes it really easy if they have done so.

you know your friend better. Just find out what he or she loves most or what he or she desires to have. also the gift should fit them both and therefore you should consider both parties. Thank you and all the best to them

Culture comes into it too. Different cultures have different expectations on the value and type of gifts.

Down here in NZ we've embraced the wedding gift register and it works well for most but there are always guests who want to go "off list".
Most people live together before they get married so the traditional toaster or housewares gifts from the 1950s have been abandoned. It's quite normal now for guests to contribute to a travel fund for the couple's honeymoon but I went to one wedding where the couple requested the gift be in fine wine.

Without knowing your friends and how things normally are in India and how traditional they are we can't really comment.

Well, depends of what kind of friend you have. Let me tell you how I choose the gifts...

If I know him/her for a long time, or he/she is my closest friend, then I will think about what was his/her favorite thing that he never get in his life or what he prefer to wear or use and I buy him. :)

    Hi
You do not specify the gender weather you want a gift for a boy or a girl.
If for boy then i think a good descent perfume would be the best gift and affordable too. You may also gift set of tie in different colors.
For girl you may buy any cosmetic item there are number of cosmetics sets available. It is affordable.

Might be a cultural thing, but where I'm from a wedding present is something both people in the couple will appreciate.
If you gave perfume, then you'd give a bottle to both husband and bride.
The problem with kitchen appliances etc is that people normally have all that stuff long before they marry. Then again, I'm not sure if @vivek001 said if they'd been living together. If they are a very traditional couple maybe they wouldn't have?

You friend's needs or wishes are very important so you can choose the right gift for his wedding. If you know him a lot of time try to think about things he said he needs or wants to have. Every person has something he can not afford and wants it so bad. So try to remember. If you don't have any idea, it would be nice to buy the couple some honeymoon trip. Maybe it would be an expensive gift, but they will like it for sure.
