my web page is www.vamoosevarmint.com we are a wildlife control company.
I have links with contractors, hom repairs, realestate, and health. Our pages covers all of these types of subjects.

So what would google or any other search engine feel is a relavant link?

    Interesting niche!

First, take a look at your competitors backlinks. That will be a good starting point for you.

Go to Google and type in the keywords you wish to rank for. Then go to Yahoo Site Explorer and enter the full URL of the site you wish to check. Click explore URL and then click inlinks. Then show inlinks "except for this domain."

It looks like the competition is not that great, which is good news. You may want to look for wildlife blogs and comment on appropriate posts.

    Good luck!

    Hi,

Your site is wildlife site, the sites which are related to your industry is
[pet sites, pet food sites etc]. Go for those sites and get the links from them.
Its not a problem to get links form other(not relavant) sites.

    A quality link is:

    1) On topic (The page linking to your page is about the same main topic)
    2) Ranked well for the keyphrase you are after (In the top 1,000)
    3) Contains the keywords you wish to rank well for
    4) Has high PR (PR 4 or higher)
    5) Doesn't have many outgoing links
    6) Dofollow (META tag & rel="nofollow")
    7) Incontent link (not footer)

Links from a webpage related to your topic(wild life in your case) are relevant.

I'd say pretty much any animal site. The content will have lots of similarities

Just a question about related links, how does google know? I mean the algorithm for what is related to something else is staggering. If I have a webpage about, lets say "How much I like Hummus", would a link from a page on tahini (sesame butter used in Hummus) be related, how about a link from a page on sesame then? If so how about a link from a page on the a company that sells soil, that is later used to grow sesame? Where does it end?

Sorry, not really a question, more like random thoughts I have been having recently about "related links".

Wild control site should take sites related with animals.. start collecting URLS with the same theme with you.
