    Question regarding the translator plugin...

I have two plugins, one caused an error when activated, and the other one didn't.. however I would want to know if they work the same method, by translating our pages into lots of diff languages, or just link to outer source of translation.

    Here are the two plugins:

1- This one is the one generating the error:

    http://www.nothing2hide.net/wp-plugins/wordpress-global-translator-plugin/

Description: Dynamically translates a blog in thirteen different languages (English, French, Italian, German, Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, Russian, Greek, Dutch) by wrapping the Google Translation Engine or the Babelfish Translation Engine By Davide Pozza.

2- This one works fine, but I really hope it multiplies the no. of pages to enable more indexed pages instead of just using outer translation source:

    http://www.lancelhoff.com/2007/08/28/wordpress-language-translator-plugin/

Description: Adds a multi-language sidebar widget which enables visitors to translate your blog in their own language. By Lancelhoff.

Anyone knows which one is better for SEO purposes?

    1. Removing "nofollow" brought in more traffic from getting listed in dofollow directories. (You can do that with or without a plugin though.)

    2. Related posts. Keeps people around longer.

On the translation plugins it looks neither plugin actually caches the page that is being translated so you don't get the benefit of the search traffic going directly to your site. On the last one you listed the demo didn't even work so its hard to evaluate something that doesn't work.

Removing the no follow and the all in one SEO thing are probably my best. That default spam remover(can't remember the name) was good because it saved me time.

The translation plugin would be cool if after a person translates it actually makes a unique page for it.

Yeah I have that one too, pretty impressed. It did marginally well with Google stuff but the biggest surprise is the Microsoft Live traffic I am getting. Boosted me up another 10% in overall traffic.
