I am sure you got an email from your domain company asking you to accept the new price HIKE that is coming on the 15 Jan 2012. What has your domain reseller given you? I have a few domains with ENOM trough Hostgator and they want 40 USD Lets Compare prices
Domains registered at Namecheap will cost $10.49 from January 31, 2012 onwards. I'll suggest you move your domains to Namecheap. They offer coupons for new domain registrations and renewals.
I got another email from another account on Hostgator they got a price on 15 USD. Keep the prices coming.
I got an email from Namesilo. They are raising their prices to $8.99 for .com and $7.49 for .net effective January 15. Whois privacy is still free so prices are still good.
No, Enom pricing will increase by one dollar to $9.00-$12.50/domain depending on your plan. The $40 is just EnomCentral's high retail price so they don't compete with their resellers.
I'm a Hostgator re-seller and I haven't been advised about any massive increase. Anyone got the correct info? Neil
First they stated the normal price was 15 and i said but my normal price is 10 and thats two days ago and they have not answered that ticket yet. I am waiting for an answer
hmm... recently namecheap has emerged in a huge way for support and is becoming bigger and bigger everyday ... guess it's to right choice to go for regarding the price change i got an email only from them i have domains at name.com too but no mail for them as of yet
I apologize for the delay in getting back to you. You receive a discounted registration fee for domains registered through your eNom reseller account with HostGator. The non-discounted pricing of $15.00 is for domains registered outside of you eNom reseller account. Please see below for pricing information for common TLDs through your eNom reseller account: .com - $10/year .net - $10/year .org - $9.75/year .info - $9.45/year .biz - $9.75/year .us - $9.75/year I hope this helps clear up any confusion. At this time, no price changes are planned for your eNom reseller account. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to let us know.
Best would be to go for GoDaddy. They have so many discounts running that you always end up getting a domain for a lessor price. I have never bought a .com domain there for more than $8. If you are lucky you can get hold of $1 domains as well.
Haven't heard of any price increases until now, but yeah - with Godaddy it's rare that I'll have to pay more than 7.50 using coupon codes, and the $1 domains are always a nice treat.
All domain register need to do it since the bulk whole sale is pushing the price up. So yeah if Godaddy keep on doing this it will be good.

Reseller Club is worse than enom when it comes to support. Call center in India with a fake phone number in USA. Sounds like one man show when you call them. Can hear him talking to his mother in the background cooking food. But thanks for the list.
