I was selling a site on eBay recently and it was my first time. I intend to sell the site for more than $300 but it turn out that someone won the bid for only $1. What should I do? I tried to explain to the buyer about my situation but he seems to insist that I need to give him the website since he won the bid. Pls advice me on what to do. I really liked the website and I wouldn't let it go if someone offered me $100 for it! Should I just refund his money and never deal with eBay anymore after this?
Do what your heart feels is right. If you don't give the site (which is maybe what i would do, as you are never going to meet that person or anything like that): You may be accused of being a cheat etc. If you give the site: You will always repent...... Cheers!
Frankly, it was your mistake, - I assume you didn't put a reserve or start the bidding at a level closer to the price you wanted - so he is within his rights to insist that you let him have it for a dollar. So your choices are to risk a black mark with ebay, or if you intend to keep trading on ebay, regard the experience as a 'learning expense'
Next time, you might want to set a reserve price or starting bid! Thats no fun though, hope it's not too much of an inconvenience to you!
You've made a decision, now think again if you're going to proceed with it. Would it be worth to sell something which you have put in your time and effort for $1? It's better to run away with it although it's not a good thing to do, it's up to you.
