Even if you format your hard drive, you should still do a virus/malware scan of the master boot record before installing a new OS.
The 2 times I had malware my norton did not prevent it from coming onto my PC and once on the PC Norton did not find it or fix it. The malware prevented access to any of the other virus sites as well. A reformat was needed. I backup my PC every weekend just to be safe. I also have a backup PC available so no loss in business. Needless to say I no longer use norton as the malware should ahve not been able to get through with it.
I know it is hard for most people to understand that they have to look for a antivirus/malware program that will scan the master boot record prior to installing a new opperating system and other software. There are a lot of bad viruses that will write to the MBR in such a way that it will not be removed even with a normal reformat of the hard drive.
I have best antivirus solution.if it is come it displays alert message and automatically clean to that malewares.
Format and install a good antivirus like McAfee or Bit-defender so that it doesn't happens again. - Mr.President -
If I have the latest virus definitions installed for my ESET Smart Security, then I see no reason in a malware affecting my pc severely, to the affect that I would need to format the pc. Even if it does I would first try system restore or boot in safe mood and other similar options.
