What will the world be like 200 years from now?

What do you think the world will be like 200 years from now, assuming we don't kill eachother first with nuclear weapons? I really don't know, but I assume the air will be extremely polluted. If global warming is real, we will have to live enclosed in some kind of protective structure. We would probably live our entire live indoors. We would be all out of oil and get our energy from the sun? There probably won't be any cars, just some kind of indoor shuttle that takes us from here to there.

What do you think the world will be like in 200 years?

With the current trend I honestly doubt our civilization will last that long...:)

In 200 years i predict we will be seeing colonies on the moon and mars. the earth has just so many resources for our ever growing population. I heard that if they want to the UK can theoretically build a primitive starship that can go 10% the speed of light.

Next 200 will be years for science, exploring universe.Today Russia had started the project to build a plant in cosmos, which will be making starships..
scintifcs will make more tests on DNA , they will create some hybrids like cow+human.. and maybe other hybrids. Today scientics doing that kind of tests at labs.

Maybe there will not be any cars, and any shuttles.. we will just be transferring directly p2p just in few seconds, (that wouldl be cool)

Our civilization has gone through much worse and survived.

As for in 200 years I really don't know or care since I won't be around.

Assuming no global disasters outside of man's control, what they earth will be like 200 years from now has a great deal to do with what we are doing on earth currently.

I like your question, because it is a question we should be asking ourselves as humanity. What do we want the world to be like in 200 years? Do want a world full of freedom and equality for all? Or a world like it is today. A world of war, of inequality and a world where the wealthy live a comfortable life while masses slave to provide a life to the wealthy that they will never know?

In 200 years, humans would become immortal. All internal parts would be mass-produced in factories, and could be replaced on demand.

The air will be clean, very clean indeed, because large "Carbinators" would continuously absorb carbon-dioxide and give out tons of Oxygen. All the industries would run on non-pollutant fuel, coz there won't be any oil left.

There would be human colonies on Mars, entirely new countries... Water would be produced artificially by tapping into the quadrillion of tons of Hydrogen, Oxygen Gas clouds available in Space...

Capabilities of Human bodies would cross all limits...

There would be no more diseases, and humans would have conquered all ailments...

There would be no shortage of food... Never again would anyone starve to death. Technology would give us breakthroughs by which modified crops can produce hundreds of times more per hectare than is produced today...

In 200 years, I would still be alive (hopefully), and posting crap on DP... :D

In 200 years i predict we will be seeing colonies in orbit around the moon and Mars (and Earth). Constantly escaping from gravity to get to the easy resources (asteroid belt) isn't as economically effective :)

Once someone builds the first factory in zero-gravity, colonizing the solar system isn't far fetched at all. Russia and China are fully aware of this and I think it may come sooner than most people expect.

Not unless technology makes it economically viable & profitable.

That is true and with the way technology is advancing, everything else being equal, it will be viable and profitable.
