Shorter the better, so i go with xxx.gr.
    xxx.com.gr is just a subdomain of com.gr so i don't trust it.

I suppose that will depend on the content and SEO done and that will not depend on the domain name extension at all.

Domain extension isn't much a good influence with website's SE authority although considering the local traffic, people might go for a shorter domain thus .gr would be the right pick.

I'm not familiar with the greek online market but as a general rule the shorter the better. I guess .gr is better than .com.gr
    Good luck

It depends on the content of your site. For me, I would choose xxx.gr, since it's a second level domain, while xxx.com.gr is a third level domain.

Subdomains are treated like seperate websites by search engines (xxx.com.gr), rather than being related to the domain it's based off of (xxx.gr).

As many said above, a subdomain won't rank as well as a TLD in Google or any other search engine.

While it shouldn't really matter - what does matter is your content and general SEO around your site - I would go take a shorter version for several reasons:
    *)it looks better
    *)it is easier to remember
*)if it DOES matter- the investment is not so big, but if it brings few extra-users - it is worth it
