Hey Everyone I am the social media manager at Adsmarket, an affiliate network. We are pretty active on our blog, our FB page, and Twitter. I am doing some market research in order to put together a great twitter/FB/YouTube competition to help grow brand awareness. There are four passes to ASE10 at stake, so the incentive is there, but I want to see what you forum gurus think. One idea I had was to see who could come up with a great viral video about Adsmarket and the four people who get the most viewers on YouTube get the passes. It makes it much more fun than simply picking a random Retweeter out of a hat, you know? I know affiliates like a challenge anyway Any ideas would be much appreciated! And, please, this is for posterity, so, be honest... (yes, it's from The Princess Bride) Cheers Daneka
well the most important thing for twitter contests is to have prices people will really want. If you are only offering an iPod Shuffle most people won't be interested. I don#t know about youtube because I never hold a youtube contest
Well the ultimate goal is to have your name spread around as much as possible. Offer a really good prize (iphone or Macbook, maybe even an Ipad Voucher) and then say whoever gets the most people to follow your twitter account wins. Once they have somebody follow you, tell the person to retweet the name of the person who sent them. ( Or you can create a program that will show the referrer )
Well to be quite honest with you ... most of the members of DP aren't even slightly interested in ipods etc. Most are here for some green (money). So, instead of the ipod shuffle, i would probably change that into some money. That way, much more people will participate, regards, Ryan
