Scenario 1 ) X is a webmaster and have a blog on which he runs adsense ads. He uses his Office / University computer to manage this blog. The office PC / University PC is on a LAN of say 200 other PCs behind a single proxy ( same IP address ),. Some one else on the same LAN ( same Ip ) regulary visits his blog and clicks on his ads... Will he be banned by google ?

Scenario 2 ) X is a webmaster and have a blog on which he runs adsense ads. He uses his Office / University computer to manage this blog. Later after some time he leaves that Job / College. Some other user starts using the same PC and browse his blog as any other user and clicks on his ads once or even regularly. Will X be banned by google ?

    Thanks

For the 1st one, I am very positive the webmaster will eventually be banned.

For the 2d, if the ads were clicked on a couple of times, not a big deal. If he/she was visiting and clicking on them regularly, the webmaster will sooner or later lose the account.

You see, AdSense team doesn't deferintiate between this or that user. They mostly look on the IP addresses. The same IP means clicks came from the same source.

But It should not be based purely on the IP address. Or if it is that way, then there should be a procedure where a webmaster can declare some IP addresses as local and google should not count them as genuine clicks. I am sure webmasters will be happy to leave some income in place of being banned.

I am sure a vast system like adsense can accommodate such very common scenarios.
