What WHOIS information can I provide while registering a domain?

Hi, I want to buy some domains for selling purposes but I don't want to provide my personal information for the whole world to see. So, what information should I fill in the boxes?

Another question: What all is required to transfer a domain from your account to someone else. What all steps are there? Are there any things that I need to take care of while registering the domain? I am planning to buy domains from Godaddy or mydomain.com

Thank you for your time! :)

Better to put correct whois info. You can always use a PO Box, mobile phone number, & a company name if you have one

agree with htmlindex - you dont want to put fake info, but you dont have to give your home address and phone number, either

with your second question, it depends what register and if you are just pushing to another account then places like Godaddy or Namecheap just require you have the new domain owners email address. If you are transferring to another register then you need to unlock the domain, obtain the auth code and take off Privacy if it is enabled.

Yes, you definitely need to use real information when you register your domain name, however several domain name registrar allows you to sign up for Anonymous Whois service which would anonymized your domain details. This will be helpful for personal websites.
